Warburton composer and performer Visnja is inviting Yarra Ranges
singers from 12 - 18 to learn challenging and exciting world music
material, which they will perform at the Warburton Harmony Festival on Friday 9 March 2012 at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre. The program,around the themes of peace and healing, will include Aboriginal, Armenian, Balkan and Asian material, as well as contemporary new works. Students will learn interesting and eclectic singing techniques and sing in various languages.
Thanks to Regional Arts Victoria, these workshops will be free for high school students in the Yarra Valley.
Rehearsals will commence on Wednesday February 1 in the Little Yarra Steiner School Grand Hall from 4pm 'til 4.45pm.
Students need to commit to the concert date of Friday March 9, 2012.
